AOC’s Stunt Backfires As NY Congresswoman Gets Hit With Second Ethics Complaint Over Met Gala

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez got more bad news when she was hit with another ethics complaint over her attendance at Monday night’s Met Gala.

This complaint is from the National Legal and Policy Center (NLPC). The group alleges that AOC improperly accepted tickets from a table sponsor for herself and her boyfriend. The NLPC claims that “it is the table sponsor who is gifting or underwriting a coveted seat to AOC at the Gala.”

The complaint says: “And if the table where AOC sat was one paid for by one of the corporations attending the event, such as Instagram or Facebook, AOC has received a prohibited gift from the corporation that also lobbies Congress.

“If AOC had not been a Member, she would not have been invited to the Gala and even if she would have been invited as a private citizen, the designer would not have made a special dress for her to wear at the event.”

The NLPC also claimed that AOC “may have violated” House rules by accepting “related gifts before, during, or after the event, including limousine service, the use of the Carlyle Hotel, professional hair and makeup services, and any other related services or goods.”

From The New York Post:

Gabriel Ocasio-Cortez came out swinging on social media against his sister’s own base for calling her on their own red carpet over her flashy appearance at the Met Gala — dismissing them in an Instagram posting as “f—ing corny.“

New York’s lefty firebrand Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Gabriel’s big sister, was the most talked-about arrival at Monday’s gala, posing for photos in a white Brother Vellies gown with the words “Tax The Rich” scrawled on the back in red lettering.

Baby brother Gabriel joked Tuesday that AOC’s dress was “the reason my phone is on airplane mode” before launching into a justification of his socialist sis’ presence at the elite event.

“She went with no intention to rub elbows, which is why every other politician goes,” he began. “She wore a statement dress about the ultra-rich not paying their fair share right in front of their faces.

Would you prefer she try to wear the same dress outside McDonald’s in an attempt to solicit the same response? Genuinely curious.”

In the next slide, Gabriel Ocasio-Cortez wrote:

“I think it’s very interesting how many ‘leftists’ are saying ‘how could she go somewhere so expensive?!’ as if she paid for it herself or with public dollars.

Meanwhile, y’all are the same heaux [a vulgarism that pluralizes the term “hoes”] that cry out ‘republicans always stick together, we need to copy that energy.’
