Biden Admits His “Mind Is Going Blank” During Live Speech – Joe Can’t Remember His Own Daughter’s Wedding
Ever since Joe Biden was on the campaign trail, some have questioned his cognitive ability. He would frequently forget names and statistics, and would often stumble over his lines.
Many argue that it’s only gotten worse in recent months, especially after the Afghanistan ordeal. Critics say the President can’t seem to get through a press event without fumbling at least a little.
And his most recent brain freeze might be concerning.
To celebrate the start of the Jewish High Holidays, President Biden attended a virtual event that focused on antisemitism and Afghanistan. He also called for “religious collaboration.”
Toward the end of his speech, POTUS talked about his daughter Ashley’s 2012 wedding, where she married Jewish doctor Howard Krein.
That’s when Biden – a Roman Catholic – decided to mention his favorite Catholic hymn. He said it was a psalm that talks about life and he started to quote it, but he couldn’t finish.
The error was quickly spread across social media, and many wondered why he couldn’t remember a very important detail from his daughter’s marriage.
Here’s the slip, courtesy of Fox News:
And it says, ‘May He lift you up on Eagle’s wings and bear you on the breath of dawn, and let the light shine upon you,’ et cetera, and — ‘and hold you in the palm of his hand.’
And they played and … I’m my mind is going blank now. What’s the song that is played where everybody is on the chair? I can’t remember it. Anyway. And that’s the song that was played.
For the most part, Biden typically relies on a teleprompter during his speeches. He also needs cues from his staff occasionally, and has been accused of ending press conferences too early.
It also seems clear that he’s more likely to stumble when left on his own.
In this case, when recalling the most important day in his daughter’s life, one would think he could remember his favorite psalm. The President is supposed to be a devout Roman Catholic, after all.
The problems didn’t end there, though.
Also during the event, Biden claimed that he visited the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh after the October 2018 tragedy. The issue is, either he’s once again misremembering or he just lied.
That’s because Tree of Life executive director Barb Feige told The New York Post that this didn’t happen.
The examples of Biden’s mistakes continue to pile up. And when he starts making claims about visits that apparently didn’t occur, his critics are bound to pounce.
Perhaps rightfully so — many still want the President to take a cognitive ability test, and Republican leaders have been calling for Biden’s resignation since the Afghanistan fiasco.
That probably won’t happen, but millions of Americans still wonder if their Commander-in-Chief really is fit to lead.
Key Takeaways:
- President Biden couldn’t remember a favorite psalm from his daughter’s wedding in 2012.
- He also claimed to have visited the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh in 2018, but the executive director said he didn’t.
- These missteps add more fuel to the fire: the President’s mental stability remains in question for many.
