And once and a while, these swamp dwellers get what’s coming to them.
That seems to be the case with one Democrat. He was a “rising star” after becoming a mayo at just 23 years old. But it seems the fame got to his head when he tried to break the law. Now a judge is throwing the book at him.

U.S. District Judge Douglas Woodlock assailed Correia’s actions as old-style corruption that eviscerates a community. Under Correia’s watch, ”City Hall was for sale,” said the judge, who also criticized his “absolute lack of remorse.”
Democrat mayor of Fall River, Jasiel Correia, was sentenced to 6 years in jail. He was convicted of trying to extort hundreds of thousands of dollars from marijuana businesses that wanted to operate in town. What’s even more shocking is, even though the man was found guilty, he showed no emotion during his sentencing.
Even the judge had to comment on the man’s “absolute lack of remorse.” Wow, that’s pretty chilling. This man had a potentially great career ahead of him. Mayor at only 23 years old? Who knows what he could have done over his lifetime?
Instead, he abused his position in an “old-style” attempt to get rich. Instead of putting the people of Fall River first, he clearly just wanted to get rich quick. But at least this time, the Democrat got caught.
